Well Log Interpretations

Well Log Interpretations

Reservoir Engineering and Petrophysics

Course Duration

5 days

Delivery Method

The course provides the participant with the basic and advanced skills and techniques needed to interpret modern well logs. These skills and techniques are then used for identification and evaluation of potential hydrocarbon zones from a standard suite of logs. Clean and shaly formation interpretations are covered. Computer applications are also emphasized.

Course Contents

  • Introduction

  • Conventional Lithology Logs

  • Advanced Lithology Logs

  • Porosity Logs (Conventional and Modern)

  • Resistivity Logs (Conventional and Modern)

  • High-Angle and horizontal well logging

  • Saturation and permeability estimation

  • Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) logs and their applications

  • Diagnostics of production problems using well logging
